Fourth partnership meeting between the project consortium partners has been held in Belovo, Bulgaria. Duration was two days, 18 and 19 of June, 2008. Some political agents and industrial key persons from Belovo region and Bulgaria, and from the region of Sierra de Gata, Spain attended also at the meeting. .
First day, some general issues have been discussed regarding the Astwood project progress at the Hotel Yundola conference room. Consortium partners have shortly reported the work performed so far, deviations and actions planned to overcome them, proposals, and next steps for the last 6-month period, and other relevant to the project issues have been also discussed. The key performance indicators have been discussed and a plan for their achievement has been accepted.
On next day of the meeting visits to the two demonstration units in Bulgaria have been organized:
- A furniture manufacturing company that collects all the saw dust generated in the production process and use it as fuel in a heat boiler (1st demonstration unit).
- A mountain resort that has installed a biomass boiler for heating.
Next meeting will take place in November 2008 at MMSG (Spain). Possible dates for this meeting will be third week of November (17th to 21st). This will enable to visit the area and the demonstration unit location. The plan is for a one-day meeting and one-day visits.
