Description of work:
The strategy developed in the previous WP will be validated within the three regions Sierra de Gata (Spain), Cova da Beira (Portugal) and Bellovo (Bulgaria). Parallel to this, the three municipalities intend to invest in a modern pellet or wood chip burner as demonstrator (not financed by the project). This will support the societal acceptance by demonstrating the feasibility of the technology.
The project will provide valuable feed back to the strategy tool developed in WP4, as it will be its first field test.
Finally, this WP will study the best way to bring the strategy tool to the right people on political level. With this, three work shops will be made in the three test regions in order to awaken the interest not only on societal level but also on political level. Key persons and decision takers will be invited to join the work shops. They shall be attracted towards the use of the tool. These work shops shall serve also to present the preliminary/final results of the project.
The aim is to learn by doing in order to be able to provide a tool which will enable to replicate the projects result on European level.
Outcome of this work package:
- A proved strategy tool in form of software which serves as guide for the enhancement of biomass use;
- Tool presented to political players
